Hey all! I recently saw some people asking how many beta packs were sold and some overly optimistic thoughts about the sale of them, so here's some estimates as to how many beta packs have been sold in total!
As you see, I said "estimates". This is because I do not have the raw pack-sale numbers, but PeakMonsters offers the opportunity to look at the total amount of BCX in existence for each card. BCX = Base Card Unit, which essentialy refers to a just obtained, uncombined card. If you combine 2 cards, you create 1 card with a BCX value of 2. Combine 5 cards of 4 BCX value, you get a card of 20 BCX value, etc...
So I'll spare you a list of each card's BCX value. You can check that by yourself on https://monsters.steempeak.com/. I'll go straight to how many BCX value there is in total for Beta:
Regular: 278,638 BCX
Gold: 5636 BCX
Total: 284,274 BCX
That equals about 56k packs. Some may hold some unopened packs, but I doubt that's a very large share. At most a couple thousands of packs I assume.
A bigger difference is made by the Kickstarter & Fundition campaigns, which sold a lot of Beta Packs in their tiers. This will probably add some thousands of packs to the amount of pack sales ;)
The sales will probably go a lot faster than they're going now once the battles start & even more when the tournaments begin.
