I found myself wishing the timer had a few more seconds (enough time to break skin on the lady who approached). I remember watching that show and felt bad for the people as well. Not sure how many truly found it funny to scare someone, or get any reaction from them. I am also right there with you on all the reality shows. Glad I stopped by your freewrite :)
