Greetings, fellow Summoners! 👋

Another Guild Brawl battle, and this one honestly made me think:

“This is a low mana cap… I should be able to win this!” 😂

Sometimes, when the mana cap is low, I feel like the battle becomes easier to predict. There are fewer options available, and I usually try to build a lineup around a strong tank that can carry the battle.
For this fight, I decided to go with Sea Monster as my main tank.

🌊 Sea Monster to the Rescue?

Sea Monster looked like a pretty solid choice for this setup.

With 8 mana, it takes up a significant portion of the available mana, but it also brings good survivability thanks to its Heal ability.

That was basically my thinking:

“Low mana cap + strong tank + Heal = easy win.” 😎
Well… not exactly. 😂

The battle also had some interesting abilities in play, including Knock Out, which can deal double damage against a stunned target.

And that's where things started getting interesting.

⚔️ My Opponent Had Other Plans
My opponent's lineup included Mylor Crowling, giving their units Thorns.

That made attacking their melee units much more dangerous than I expected.

On top of that, Grunt brought Double Strike, allowing it to attack twice each turn.

Meanwhile, Halfling Alchemist had Halving, which reduced the target's power after a successful attack.

So even though I entered the battle thinking the low mana cap would work in my favor, my opponent's combination of abilities made the fight much more complicated.😅
Never Underestimate a Low Mana Battle
This battle reminded me of something I've been learning again since coming back to Splinterlands:
Low mana doesn't necessarily mean easy.
Actually, low-mana battles can sometimes be even trickier because every mana point matters.

Spending too much on your tank can leave you with very limited options for the backline. At the same time, choosing cheap monsters just to fill the lineup doesn't guarantee that they'll work well together.

And abilities can completely change how a battle plays out.

I went into this one thinking:
“I got this.”
Then the battle basically said:
“Are you sure about that?” 😂

🏰 Another Lesson From the Guild Brawl
That's what I enjoy about Guild Brawls. Even when I think I've figured out the matchup, there's always a chance that the opponent's lineup or ability combination will completely change the outcome.
This one definitely wasn't the straightforward victory I expected from the low mana cap.
I'm still getting back into the game and learning the newer cards, abilities, and strategies, so every brawl is another opportunity to learn.
And honestly…

I thought I'd win this one. 😂

Sometimes Splinterlands just has other plans.

Until the next brawl, fellow Summoners! ⚔️🔥
Thanks for reading, and good luck with your battles!
