🏠 Kitchen Remodeling: Ambitious Ideas vs. Realistic Constraints
When redesigning a home, the kitchen is often one of the most crucial spaces to improve — and sometimes, the most challenging.
In the original floor plan I reviewed, the kitchen area was relatively small and confined. I explored an innovative layout that involved relocating the kitchen to the current bathroom area. This allowed for a larger, more open-concept kitchen design, complete with an island and improved flow to the living space.
While the new layout was fresh and creatively opened up the space, it presented practical limitations. In reality, moving a kitchen to a former bathroom involves extensive plumbing work and potential structural issues, which may not be feasible in many apartment buildings due to regulations or cost.
This exercise reminded me that interior design is a balance between imagination and practicality. Bold ideas are great, but it’s equally important to assess how realistically they can be applied within the given structure.
