Hello Steem community, today I woke up with a heavy mindset for growth. I'm in a weird place in my life where I feel like I'm chained up. I feel like in order for me to progress forward, I need to take a second to evaluate my life and assess the issues that are holding me back from having the life I know I can achieve. This is step 1 in order to progress in life.
First, let me assess how I got to this position.
Impatient- It sucks to say this but growing up I was never taught the importance of self-development.
Lack of motivation- I wake up some days with no motivation and allow myself to fall into that negative mindset.
Lack of structure- I usually don't plan anything and just go with the flow.
Negative outlook- No matter how good things are I always try to point out the negatives in life.
Lack of social positive influences- I have friends and family but I don't have people who have common goals or interest.
Now that I've evaluated the negatives that holding me back in life, I can start to address my issues.
Alright, let me start by addressing my first issue, patience:
Patience is something that can't be achieved over night but can be developed over time. I started reading Think and Grow Rich for personal development. At the same time, I set a number of pages that I must read to create a goal. I also set some sort of reward system to create impatiences in myself.
(For Example: I made plans with my friends to go out to eat at 7. But before I even start getting ready to go out, I told myself I would read at least 7 pages. I started reading at 6, as I read, I started to get impatient because I saw that my time was running out. STOP. That's what I told myself. Just breath and finish. Smash your goal and reward yourself to reinforce your patience.)
