Introduction
Hi everyone @LivingUKTaiwan here with today's #traveldigest. We're staying in Europe today for our top 3 posts. First of all, we have an introduction into the most popular European Hike, the Tour du Mont Blanc that spans across Switzerland, Italy and France, then we're staying in France to visit some charming villages and Paris, and finally hopping across to Netherlands to see some Dutch Mills.

🥇 Tour du Mont Blanc - Introduction to an Epic Adventure by
It's a big mystery, even for me, about how we prepare our travels. It usually starts with the claim that someplace is especially pretty, then somebody jokes about going there, then another one adds a bike to the equation, and in a day or two, roots of new adventure are created. Then, one of us develops a complete and total obsession with this idea and cannot sleep until he creates a plausible but absolutely mad plan for its execution. Then it is easy, we just follow that crazy plan without questions. Let's just say that this approach requires that all participants are... well... mentally ill from the same disease, have a lot of understanding for each other, and in short that they are very very good friends.

🥈 EuroVelo 6 - France, Saint-Ay to Orleans 33 km + an evening in Paris by
My final destination is very close, right on the next village, so I am not in a hurry today. This place is called Meung sur Loire, a charming village in the Loiret department in north-central France. It will always have a special meaning for me because here I completed EuroVelo 6, my first EuroVelo route which I started back in 2009, continued in 2012, 2015 and ended it here, in Meung sur Loire on 6 July 2016. Since I arrived so early we finally have time to visit a castle. So I present you Château de Meung-sur-Loire.

🥉 Photography: Kinderdijk by
Why is Kinderdijk such a tourist magnet? Because in this small area in the Netherlands you will find some of the keystones from the Dutch history and the fight against the water. Everybody knows the story of Hansje Brinker, but it actually is a story created in the USA and not here in the Netherlands. But it is symbolizing the fight we always have with the water, and here in Kinderdijk we work together with the water and the wind to create a safe country to live in and keep our feet dry.
