It was a beautiful day, first of December.
Recently it snowed and the weather was warm. A bit of rain just started falling.
I hate cold! But this day was perfect for a short trip.
I haven't seen the Râșnov Citadel in a while. This was a great opportunity since I haven't visited it during winter time.
The medieval town its perched on a hill, surrounded by woods, watching over the newer settlement.
The entrance was just as expected. A imposing gateway, ready to close if unwanted visitors were to pass its threshold.
Between its strong and thick walls, the inhabitans are just going on with their daily business, undisturbed by tourists.
It seems that this particular day, laziness was the cats' favorite activity.
I can relate to that :)
Walking through the ruins, I came to a balcony with a breathtaking view.
At the feet of the hill, the frozen Râșnov town was spread. It seemed it was hibernating under the white snowy cover and the Piatra Craiului Mountains were watching over.
From time to time, droplets from the melting snow, were falling from the roof.
Not feeling the cold, just tired feet, I returned to the train station. My mind was imagining how people lived, loved and fought in a medieval citadel, now run by cats.
