Marhaba Dear Steemians
Today's last working day of the week here in UAE and everyone's excited to welcome a long weekend, Eid Holidays!
My niece came with me in the office with a promise that she'll behave so that my boss won't be grumpy. 馃槉 Well, she kept her promise though I was not able to work 100% as she keeps on asking me to print or cut her artworks.
She's turning 6 in a month time but her creativity already shows. She loves toys, no doubt about it but we noticed that she's now more into arts and making her own toys out of tissue, paper, plastic, cotton or anything that you think almost a garbage.
Hmm, who could think that the cardboard roll of tissue roll can be a teapot? Well, with extra help of tape and paper, she made it!
No scissors allowed! She'll just tear the paper as per the size and shape she needs and done! Diligent and resourceful!! 馃槉馃槉
Today I asked her what she wants to do, she said if I can print her butterfly and she'll color it.
Then another butterfly... butterfly... butterfly... caterpillar... ladybug... cat.. dog... rabbit... elephant... giraffe and so on...
She remembered her dear friend, Gabby, and thought of making her a scrapbook. Scrapbook!?!? seriously?? I learnt what scrapbook is when I was in secondary!! 馃槄馃槄
She colored the animals and pasted on blue paper. I was observing her on how she'll stick them all in a small paper, got amaze on what she did.
She only pasted the upper side of the cutouts to make a booklet! Brilliant! 馃槏
I feel so happy seeing her artistic side... I am sure with our support and a little more push, she will do wonders!
Kids have their own artistic side, we just have to cultivate it. Don't just give them tablet/gadgets... give them color pencils and paper. Let them explore and show their talents!
Join them too... just take out at least 30 minutes of your time. It matters to them, a lot!! It'll boost their confidence and will be happy to impress you with their work.
Time Matters!
After coloring, she asked me to cut it and she'll show it to her mom @akosimalai. 馃槏
Thank you for your time and 'till her next artventure!
