I spotted a hostage trapped on a bridge, but I couldn't reach them without abandoning my post. As 7:00 PM struck and night fell, tense music signaled danger. I retreated to the ladder, lured zombies into a UV zone that killed them, and safely looted their bodies for valuable crafting supplies.
Up on a distant bridge structure, I spotted a survivor trapped with some bandits. Reaching that spot meant completely abandoning my post. I weighed my options, but ultimately had to leave the hostage to his fate.
The sun plunged past the horizon, and my watch clicked over to 7:00 PM. Night was officially here, the absolute worst time to be caught outdoors. The ambient noise shifted, and a tense musical cue vibrated through the air, warning me that dangerous volatiles would soon stalk around.
Standing exposed on the open roof was a death sentence. I immediately fell back toward a nearby ladder, illuminated by a bright overhead UV light.
Instead of hiding in the shadows, I decided to turn the environment into a weapon. I knew the UV light served as a lethal barrier against the infected.
Standard zombies that drifted into its brilliant blue beam burned up within seconds. Seeing an opportunity, I climbed down the ladder, stomped on the metal floor, and actively coaxed a small group of infected toward the glow.
As the infected lunged forward, I scrambled back up the ladder to safety. The zombies blindly gave chase, rushing straight under the light fixture.
Within moments, the ultraviolet radiation sizzled through their flesh. They shrieked, collapsed, and dropped dead on the pavement. My trap worked seamlessly.
Once the immediate threat cleared, I climbed down to harvest their bodies, gathering essential supplies and crafting components. Satisfied with the yield, I pushed back out toward the bridge area to draw in another small horde.
I made sure they kept their eyes on me, stepping backward whenever they slowed down to ensure they did not lose my trail.
I led four more infected back into the trap, climbed out of reach, and watched as the UV light wiped them out instantly.
With a pile of dead zombies scattered beneath the UV beam, I safely looted every body, stocking up on enough materials to craft new gear for the long night ahead.
