While rowing toward a settlement raid, we lowered our longboat sail to pass under a tight bridge. Right after entering Essexe, riverbank bandits ambushed us with arrows. I leapt off the boat, chased down the frightened slingers, eliminated the entire group, and looted their small camp.
We were rowing our longboat down the river on a quiet ride, heading toward another settlement for a raid.
Along the way, I noticed local men in small boats tending to their daily chores, while birds floated peacefully on the water nearby.
Soon after, we entered a new territory called Essexe. Since there was a tight, low bridge ahead, our crew lowered the sail and beam so the longboat could pass safely underneath.
As soon as we emerged from under the bridge, a group of enemies appeared on the riverbank and blocked our path. They opened fire on us with slingers, forcing me to act quickly.
I leapt off the longboat and charged ashore to deal with them directly. I landed my first blow on a woman in their ranks before turning toward another hostile who tried to run away.
He seemed terrified after seeing his companion fall, but I chased him down and took him out before he could escape.
The rest of the attackers were mostly common thieves armed with simple slings. They clearly had no chance against us. I cleared the remaining bandits without much trouble and then looted their small camp nearby.
That's all for now.
