The northern parts of the island are for the most part home of either farmers or fishermen. They have maintained their family business and avoided moving to the fringe if the city in search of alternative work.
However, who could blame them? They have a fantastic tradition here and have no urge to leave what they are familiar with behind. Serving the locals and the occasional tourist like me is exactly the kind of pace of life they love and I must say, I envy them.
