Imagine a Kim Kardashian on Steemit, the amount of upvotes would be mouth-watering! Not to mention the Steem Power they would curate, it would be in the millions!
Is Steemit ready for a Celebrity? Well, yes. This is a social network, and celebrities offer the best social credibility. It would also make Steemit a more diverse platform, and take our minds of the cryptocurrency talk that is so popularised on Steemit.
Celebrities on Steemit will also attract their own followers from other platforms such as FaceBook and Instagram. This will help boost Steemit's awareness in mainstream media, and literally Steemit could potentially drive people to purchase cryptocurrency.
Steemit needs the popularity of a celebrity, but i'm curious to see whether the timing is right. Having more people on Steemit may drive curation and author rewards down, thus making it harder to earn on the platform. YouTube suffered a similar problem recently, and had to decrease it's ad revenue for content creators. Hopefully Steemit will adjust accordingly to benefit the creators financially.
