Minds was created by Bill Ottman, launching in 2015. Bill's main reason for creating Minds was based on FaceBook changing their algorithm, to the benefit of big companies, but detrimental to the average user. Minds allows any individual or business to openly advertise on a platform that is based on equality and fair usuage. Minds has a points system, which promotes your content based on how much points you purchased with either money or Bitcoins.
Gab.ai
Gab is a social network created by Andrew Torba. Gab allows users to create content of up to 300 characters. Gab's mission statement is to "put people and free speech first". Unlike Facebook and Twitter, Gab offers users more control over their "own" content, and less censorship.
Vid.me
Vidme is a video site, and a direct competitor to YouTube. Vidme's aim was to give power back to video creators, as YouTube demonitized many videos, causing people to be without an income. Vidme has a great community and it's great for vlogging as many users are intrigued to find new people to connect with.
Yours.org
Yours was created by Ryan X. Charles, an ex-employee of Reddit. It's beta launches on May 30th. Similar to Steemit, Yours will be on the blockchain, using Litecoin as it's currency. Yours is an alternative platform to mainstream social networks, which allows users to make money with their content and activity on the Litecoin blockchain.
Busy.org
Busy.org uses the same blockchain technology that Steemit uses, and both platforms compliment each other. Busy.org is linked to Steemit and automatically posts your content on both platforms. The only main difference between each platform is the user interface. Steemit has more of a Reddit interface, wheras Busy.org has more of FaceBook interface.
