What is Log or Raw? Colour Grading 101 [DTube Exclusive]
What is log? Most of the time, I'm shooting in log. Log is the RAW version for videos. It allows you to take in the highlights and the shadows both at the same time. It also sets the profile to reduce saturation, contrast, clarity and reduces any in-camera colour changes in order for you to have more room in post-production to colour grade your video the way you want it.
People have often commented on how my videos look "crisp" or the quality looked really nice. Mostly that's done in post. 2 cameras can take the same shot and one will look entirely different than the other based on how it was shot and how it was colour graded :)
So try shooting in log next time! :D
