I have heard allot about Dandelions over the years, and even found some dandelion health products at the health food store. So I have been prompted to gather some information on them. People have told me stories about making Dandelion wine, and Dandelion salads, and I have been told they are one of the first food sources available to bees in the spring. All this peaked my curiosity. So lets see what there is to find out.

This guy goes into Dandelions from more of a gardening or farming scope.
It turns out, Dandelions carry out allot of useful function for soil. It works to loosen tight soils. It draws calcium from lower soil and bring it to top soil. It's attracted to soil that is more acidic and words to make that soil PH more neutral. In a nutshell, he is saying Dandelions are there to help and we can tell what they are up to by observing them. It also points out that they support allot of insect life that also tends to be helpful.

She shows us how to harvest and process some Dandelion roots. After she gives the roots a nice light roast, just enough heat to dry them out I'm gathering, she likes to use them to make tea. Great idea. Free abundant plant, grows everywhere naturally, and I suspect the roots offer a fair amount of nutritional value.

Cool video. Buddy shows us how to make Dandelion honey and Dandelion coffee. There is a bit of over lap with the process covered in the other video we just seen, if you want to skip ahead to the honey and coffee part jump to around the 10 min mark of the video. In a nutshell, you take roasted Dandelion root, grind it up, submerge in water that was just boiling for around 10 to 15 mins, separate solid from liquid and enjoy the beverage. I can't imagine coffee without the caffeine, but, I'm willing to bet it's more dense in nutrients.

Nice brief to the point video, looks like some girls did it for their high school project. They cover some health benefits and nutritional contents of Dandelions. Guess this plant can help with gullstones and kidney stones, prevention and elimination.

Here's a screen shot from this video just to recap nutritional content:

Last thing listed there is Vitamin E, looks like it got chopped off a bit.

Video Provided by You Tube Channel (Learn Your Land) --> He digs in a little further regarding health benefits, covering specifically the flower portion of Dandelions. Anti cancer property, anti oxidant properties, bile production support. He tells it all better than I can, sounds like this guy really knows his stuff. He puts heavy emphasis on something called polyphenols and cites some study's supporting them. He says the flower part contains 115 times the polyphenols compared to the rest of the Dandelion. (115x) is a strong multiplier. Long story short, these little yellow guys are your friend.

More about health benefits of Dandelions. High in potassium, which is something I covered in a previous post. Go here if you care to check that out --> @photonium/potassium-chemically-and-in-the-body-wonderful-and-essential-for-life

He mentions allot of things, liver detoxification, weight loss support, bile production support, heavy metal detoxification support, anti-oxidation, helps the liver make glutathione which is a hot topic these days with everything going around regarding graphene-oxide poisoning.

Video Provided by You Tube Channel (Eccentric Nature) --> He takes us though the history of Dandelions, and all the 100's of names they had. Who know they can use Dandelions to make rubber? I would never have guessed that.
I think he is right about lawns. Mower clippings actually make for a rather useless harvest and killing a useful plant for a cosmetic one, actually does strike me as not making sense.

This video goes covers it's above average ability to reproduce. All comes down to arrow dynamics. They are a feat of genetic brilliants.

Dandelions, free, abundant, nutrient dense, healing. Thank you for reading, I hope this was interesting, educational and entertaining.

If you see someone spraying Dandelions maybe go over to them and give them a link to this post,LOL.
