Yuan got his new Byte Tag yesterday! It's a cool idea for pet tags that I found online. The backside has a QR code and URL instead of your details printed right on it. So if your pet is lost, someone scans the code (or manually types in the URL), and it will take them to your profile. However, you can set it so that your details don't show unless you have marked your pet as lost. So this way, no one can find out your address/phone number by looking at the tag when you're at the dog park or if your cat is indoor/outdoor. Here in the States, a lot of indoor/outdoor cats mistakenly get taken to shelters by well-meaning people who think that they are lost, so hopefully this would stop that from happening too, if the people see that the cat is not lost when they scan the tag.

You can also add in health info, like your veterinarian, any allergies or medications, and things like that, so if Goddess forbid something happens to your pet, they can see that information and contact your vet/not give them any allergens/know that they need medication/etc.

You see that button that says "notify owner of your location"? That's because in addition to you getting a text that someone scans the tag, if the person agrees to notify you of their location, you will get a map telling you where the scan happened. So say someone scanned the tag but then your pet got away from them, you'd at least have an idea of where to look.

There is no subscription to having a profile (like with those tags that have GPS tracking on them and you have to pay every month), you just buy the tag once and you're done; and it's easy to update your profile any time. Think about how many people don't even know HOW to update the information with the chip company, if their pet has a chip.

So Yuan's tag is on his punk rock vest harness, since he refuses to wear a collar normally, and when we go for a walk in the courtyard he'd be wearing his harness.

I thought these were such a good idea that I signed up to be a 🌟Byte Tag Ambassador🌟, so full disclosure I do get a small commission if you use my referral code, but you also get 15% off! These work around the world since they are just sending people to a website, and they ship worldwide. They are currently on sale too, so now is the time to get one at a good price. They have hard plastic ones like I have, or silicone ones if you prefer that. My referral code is: https://bytetag.com/discount/Phoenix. Thank you for supporting me if you use my code! :)
