For this week's contest "What Is It Like To Have A Pet?", I will be very sincere. I do not currently have any pet. Not a dog, not a cat, not even a fish...... But if you ask me whatt pet I would lovee to have, I will shoout CAT! Yes, a small cuteeeee cat.
Since I was small, I have always loved cats. I don't know why, but there is something about them that is so calm, so elegant, so independent. While dogs are always jumping and barking, cats will just sit like a queen and look at you like "who are you?" I love that attitude.
I grew up in a house where my parents said "we cannot keep animal inside house, it will scatter things." So I never had the chance. But whennever I visit my neighhbor who has a cat, I spend hourrs playingg with it. I love how soft their fur is,..... how they purr when you rub their neck,..... how they curl and sleep beside you.
For me, havingg a pet, especcially a cat, is not just about havingg an animal..... It is about having a quiet companion.
I imagine my life with a cat. I would name her Mimi. In the morning, she would wake me up by stepping on my chest. When I am readingg or writingg my Hive posts, she would come and sit on my lapptop, disturbingg me, and I would laugh. When I am sad or lonelly, she woulld just come and sit besidee me, no noise, no judggment, just presencce. That is what I wantt.
I know takingg care of a pet is not eaasy. You must feed it, clenan its litter box, take it to vet, buyy food. A cat may scratch your chairs, may climb your curtains. But I am ready for that responsibility. I have watched many videos on how to take care of cats, what they eat, how to train them.
Many people think cat people are lazy or indoor people. Maybe it's true. I am a bit of an indooor person, I love stayingg at home, writingg, watchingg movies. A cat would fit my lifestyyle perfectlly. Not too noisy, not too demanding, but always there.
I may not have a pet today, but I know one day when I have my own space and stable income, my first pet will be a cat. And I will give her all the love I have been saving.
For those who have pets now, please love them well. They are family.
And for those like me who don't have yet, it's okay to dream.
