I welcome you to my blog. Having a pet can be really fun and exciting, but trust me, there are good sides and bad sides to having pets. However, many pet owners only post the fun and good sides of owning pets and never post the moments when their pets annoy them or mess up their apartments. When you follow pet owners on social media, you will long to own a pet yourself because of what you see. The excitement of owning one, the good things you see, how they care for their pets, and how their pets return the show of affection and love can sometimes leave you perplexed.
I have not owned a pet myself, but I have lived with a friend who owns a cat and a dog, and I can tell you for free that it is indeed fun. Whenever he comes back from work, seeing how excited the pets are to see him helps me understand why I think we all need pets in our lives. If you lack love, get yourself a pet, especially a dog, because, from my experience living at my friend's place, the dog showed him more love than the cat, and it was obvious. If it were possible, the dog would cut its chain just to hug its owner at every given opportunity.
The cat, on the other hand, only shows affection once a day or once every two days, but it is still a lovely sight to behold. When I first arrived, they only showed him love and affection, but over time, that affection extended to me. The dog, in particular, never hesitates to want to hug me whenever I come back home, whether with my friend or all alone. Trust me, whenever I remember how the dog welcomes me, I am always eager to go home. I also made getting bones from a nearby restaurant a habit, and the dog looked forward to my coming home, too.
Then we have the downsides: having to clean up their mess, which is part of taking care of them, taking them to the veterinary clinic for check-ups, the stress of doing so, and the expenses involved. If you are not financially buoyant enough, you might find it difficult to take proper care of your pet. As much as the good sides make me want to own one myself, the downsides are actually numerous, and one has to be determined before deciding to own a pet.
