So I have been talking a lot of metaphysical spiritual things
I do love talking about these things immensely
But sometimes you just have to do a cute cat post, with a good story
This is Lola
She's a local where I live in Aro Valley suburb of Wellington, New Zealand.
Here she is pictured sitting on a bench in 'Aro Park', which is a central hub where you can hang out. It's also the location of our community centre, a early childhood centre, and a small basketball court.
A lot of people walk through Aro park on their daily commute, and for many years this cat has been there for people to pet as they walk by. It's really quite a special thing.
The story goes that Lola's human householders actually decided to move out of Wellington. Yet they made arrangements for the new residents to adopt her because 'the park was her everything'. This cat is loved, and even has a facebook page.
So you may have noticed that this cat only has three paws, or three legs to be precise. There is a slightly sad part to the tale. For much of the time I have known Lola she has actually had four legs.
Lola was attacked by a dog, and her front leg was so badly injured that it had to be amputated.
We didn't see Lola for about three weeks after the attack, thankfully her owners let everyone know that she we alive and recovering.
So things have change, and she doesn't often venture deep into the park anymore, with her mobility and confidence a little knocked back. But a new system has arisen, whereby a nice little cat bed has been arranged for her which is reachable by humans over a small wall.
And here she curls up, dozing the days away, or occassionally leaping with three legs to run and meet you. She is always happy to get some love from people walking by,
This is a community cat
And she couldn't be stopped by an attack.
Much Love everybody
Today I am thankful for the little things in my life
