INTRODUCTION:
As a child watching cartoons of Superman, Spider-man, Birdman, Superted and others, it made me wish I was as powerful as those cartoon characters. I will imagine big things I will accomplish if I were like them but now as an adult,each time I meditate on my limitations as a human, the things I wish I could do if I have superpowers are markedly different from those of my childhood years.I will focus on four key things I wish I can do if I had superpowers.
MEET KING DAVID:
Everytime I read a story or learn something new about the life and times of the ancient Israelite king David, it' inspires me to want to be like him.He is known as the second ruler of the nation of Israel and I was named after him. His exploits as a young shepherd boy confronting the giant Goliath and defeating him with just a stone is something I wish I could watch being replayed right in front of me. If I had superpowers, I will travel back in time to live at the time he lived. I will walk with him as he went into hiding from his father-in-law King Saul.I will ask him to teach me the skills that made him stand out as a soldier and I will make him take me around his palace courtyard.
I will listen to him tell me stories of his encounters with wild animals as a lonely shepherd boy in the bush tending for his father's flock and I will make him tell me how he felt when he finally sat on the throne and when he erred against his God. My reasons for wanting to meet him is not because of historical curiosity but it is more of a quest to have a glimpse into his leadership style and his resilience.
END HUMAN SUFFERING:
The world is awash with tales of people who are experiencing extreme poverty,loss,distress, anguish as well as pain. With superpowers, I will have the ability to transform the world and put an end to everything that causes human suffering. With my powers,I will influence policy makers to make policies that will uplift and transform humanity.The key focus of my work will be to bring comfort and relief to the brokenhearted and promote a universal society where equality, justice and compassion will reign supreme. Education is power, I will use my abilities to empower and help people get access to good and quality education so that the poor will break free from the grips of poverty.
BRING LOVED ONES AND DEAD ONES BACK TO LIFE:
Each time a loved one or a friend dies,it leaves a deep scar in our hearts and minds and we will start asking questions such as: why did it happen? Where has he gone to? Why did God allow it to happen? What could be happening to him right now? Our limitations and powerlessness is exposed at the death of a person. We wish we could resurrect them but we can't.With my superpowers, I will visit all the morgues and cemetaries around the world ,call the dead by their names so as to restore life back to them. With the touch of a finger,.
I will crack open memorial tombs and graves and hand the resurrected ones back to their relatives.I will work to ensure that I stop death at it's very source and ensure that there will be no need for cemeteries in the world. A responsible use of such power will definitely make life more meaningful.
TRAVEL AROUND THE WORLD:
It has been my wish to visit every city and neighborhood in the world effortlessly.With superpowers I will visit every corner of the globe even places people dread to go to like the Bermuda triangle.Such travel will expose me to the diverse cultural traditions of people around the world. I will explore unique landscapes.The aim will be to fully understand human diversity and gain more knowledge that will make me facilitate global dialogue and corporation.
REVERSE GLOBAL WARMING:
There are alarm bells sounding that the world is getting warmer and this will threaten human existence and that of other species. If left unchecked this will spell doom. if I have superpowers, I will reverse the effects of global warming and direct human attention to seeking and using sustainable ways in the activities. I will literally cleanse the earth of every pollutant that will ruin the earth and promote a renewal or rebirth of the planet. I will use my powers to bring back extinct species and ensure they live harmoniously with humans.
CONCLUSION:
This write up is not just a guess of what I will do with superpowers but it is a mix of my personal desires and my commitment to make the world a better place where empathy, love, equality and joy will define humanity. This goes to show the impact a person can have on the world if he has superpowers
