I'm following the lead of pennsif@pennsif in offering to act as a formal Mentor to any 2 new steemit users who feel they want some extra help figure everything out around here. It sounds like a great way to increase retention and taking some of my initiatives to help new members to the next level. I think it will also help me to better understand what's going through the minds of a new user and be better able to help some others along the way.

Of course I'm always willing to help informally if you ever have any questions feel free to leave and comment or question on any of my posts or reach out to me on Discord PheliMint #3565

What pennsif@pennsif proposed was a formal mentorship arrangement, he even suggested a Formalized Personal Mentoring Statement which I will use. Please read his post HERE.

Who am I

I am in my 30's and male, I live in Northern Ontario Canada, in the EST time zone. I work as a nurse, mostly night shifts to be able to spend most of my daytime hours with my family of 2 young kids.

I also run a small business, that mints and sells silver rounds.

My experience on steemit

I joined steemit in mid June 2017, I'm an active member of a few communities on Steemit, namely steemsilvergold a community for silver stackers and precious metals enthusiast. TeamCanada and TeamAustralia two of the regional communities within the large Minnow Support Project Communuity. I'm also a member of thealliance a group of quality bloggers here on steemit.

I starting blogging about silver, did a bit of creative writing. I published a bit of family and life content, now I'm sharing some of my experiences as a total noob in the crypto world. I'm hosting an ongoing fitness challenge, write a few ongoing series and contest, but mostly a very scattered and eccentric blogger. Recently I have really enjoyed writing some straight forward content to help new users.

What I can offer as a mentor

I can help with navigating the platform, much of the nuts and bolts stuff, as well and building a following and finding your niche and community here on steemit. For me the most important aspect is becoming active within a community and being a valuable member of the whole ecosystem with the bigger picture in mind.

I'm usually available on steemit most nights, from 20-24EST, or 23-0600h EST (when working night shift). It would likely be best to work with a North American or Australian Mentee. ( I really have no daytime availability)

I'm not an expert at blog formatting and all the page breaks and embedded photos and that fancy stuff, but I can help a bit with Markdown.

Type of mentee that I can best work with

I'd be happy to help anyone blogging on any topic, but I'm really not well versed in the programming, art, music or writing communities and think it may prove problematic. I'm also not familiar with D-tube or any of those add-on or other options to engage with the blockchain.

I will only be able to mentor in English.

It would be best to communicate over discord and voicechat would be problematic since I try to blog quietly when everyone else in the house is sleeping.

I'd be happy mentoring any user with a reputation of less than 52. At this time I would only be willing to accept 2 mentees and I'll evaluate how it goes, I don't think it has to have a formal end time of set schedule. It can be driven by your needs and we'll take it from there.

If you interested please reach out in the comments or on Discord PheliMint #3565

Of course I also challenge any other users to take on a formal Mentee and lets help increase user retention and a quality user base on steemit.
