It's the metadata! It's the metadata!

Metadata is the data, about data. The time stamp, location, pattern of use, disclosure or networked relationships.

Metadata provides clues about a persons activities. Their social media footprint, website usage, internet traffic patterns and even about friends of friends of friends.

Think about your metadata - what footprint or path are you leaving; and who is collecting the metadata, storing the metadata and analyzing the metadata.

Data is an asset, information is power and knowledge moves us to action.
