I had experience with an earthquake once, but it was much weaker, and without any human casualties... I didn't know that your region is in the "earthquake" area, but I remember that when we had plans to move to New Zealand, they experienced a huge one...

Good to hear that all your family and closest friends are OK, but I can't even imagine the confusion, the uncertainty which was present (and it probably still is) around you... Hopefully, it will not happen again soon!
