Only seven kilometres long, Krupa river is often regarded as being one of the prettiest rivers in Croatia. In my opinion, definitely worth of paying a visit!

The most mesmerizing confluent of Zrmanja river, Krupa river is situated along the huge canyon slopes. It is known for its diverse flora and landscapes of cascades and waterfalls, also for a rich biodiversity, including bats, birds, snakes, frogs and insects.

I will share some photographs from our trip, last summer.

Just descending from the parking provided us with the most fascinating views.

The river can be crossed over Kudin bridge, the unusual old wavy bridge that connects the two shores.

The legend says that the bridge was constructed by Kude, the young lad who was separated from his beloved one by the river. In order to get to her and ask to marry him, he built the bridge that was named after him.

Surrounded by canyon slopes, this river is covered with gorgeous cascades, and little hidden coves, where you can and soak in the nature.

We decided to park in a little cove on the other side of the river. Being surrounded by thousands of dragonflies, I asked my husband to stay still so they would start landing on his fingers. A great opportunity for taking a couple of photos of this fearless little creatures.
