If you see picture numbers 2 & 3 below, things looked very dreary. But not so.
The one thing that I learned in nature is patience, as I so well remember my hasty actions when I started with photography. In fact, my tutors were dragonflies, as they are very fast flyers, and if one cannot get them in flight, then it's easy to get them when they sit to take a breather. They also have the habit of sitting on the same spot, and one has to simply wait for them to come in to sit. Later on, I also learned to get them in flight, but that's a story for another day.
As with anything worth waiting for, nature is no exception and most of the times one will get the rewards. But it is not always the case, as if one is not alert, the fast actions of the wildlife will pass one by. It happens to me so many times. For instance, we have a roving sparrowhawk and twice now I saw him clearly, but I did not have the camera ready. No, I don't cuss or swear when I miss him, as I think it was meant for my eyes only.
Oh yes, the pictures below will not show you what I expected to get on camera.
I had an idea about what was going to happen, and you will see what it was.
In the meantime, during my waiting period, I got some sea gulls coming over.
And I was right, as here it started. Note the setting sun behind the trees.
I took about 20 photos of the sunset, but here I only show you a selection of some of the shots.

And finally, it was all over.
It is not nice when it is all finished, and I always resent the time being cut off to admire the beauty of nature. It is almost like nature drawing the curtains and shutting off for the day. Doors and windows closed, gates locked, and the lights turned off. But then, it is for the night wildlife feeders to awake from their slumbers in order to start hunting for prey. So, nature is never totally shut, as it works day and night for no pay. Lol. Then it becomes another period of patience, waiting for what the next day will bring to my eyes.
Such is life.
