A technique I like to use in order to achieve the dreamy effect on my drawings. I will show you two pieces made with a technique that appears to me like drawing with light.

The first step is to cover the paper with charcoal, in order to end up with the black drawing surface.

Then, with the special rubber, I am wiping down the color. Actually, I am drawing the basic structure and revealing all the spots on the character which will be illuminated by the sunlight.

After the light strokes are revealed, the next step is to return to the charcoal, in order to define the shape of the character even more.

The key is to keep switching between wiping down and adding more charcoal until the drawing is finished.

Adding a couple of details in the background, and working on the body parts of the cat.
