The customs of the old that they always leave leftover for mice and turn off a lamp to pity the butterflies are part of how we value living things as human being. Form is not different from emptiness. Emptiness is not different from form. Form is indeed emptiness. Emptiness is indeed form.
色不異空空不異色 色卽是空空卽是色

What the Truth means is not valued as the universal law but to be as practice based on it. Respect for life is the common spirit of sentient beings, but it becomes compassion when it is to appear.
