The first cell of Saint Francis, 06/09/2019
Here is the first cell of Saint Francis. The history of La verna seems to have began from here. It is said that he always stayed and meditated here. It was rebuilt from the end of the 14th century to the beginning of the 15th century by order of a duchess on the wooden cell.
The stone plate inserted into the altar was the table saying that he and Jesus sat and talked together during meditation.
I watched the the way of pilgrim's coming by car from my room. Two paths here. 1)Driving or 2) Walking. No matter how you coming, we should meet the inner light of our mind through the internal window.
