My Actifit Report Card: March 29 2024//Activity wetting my pen roof sheets while I lost some birds to heat stress.
I want to use this medium to greet all great Hivers. How has been your day so far, hope you are all doing good? I'm positive minded that it's all well and fine.
Today was a bit sad for me because I lost some birds to heat stress. The degree of the heat was so high this afternoon to the extent that even human could feel the scorching of the sun on their skin including myself. How much more Broiler birds that lack sweat glands.
I was away when all these happened, it was when I came this evening that I met three of the fifty birds lifeless. What's heat stress? Heat stress is normally caused when there's high degree of sun in the afternoon. So when it's coming down to evening, that's when some of these couldn't take while they lost it. When I came, I just have wet the roof to reduce the heat from the sheets getting in into the inside o the pen.
Today was so sunny that the scorching of the sun was unbearable for both human and animal.
I had to take my time to wet the roof but yet, I have lost some of my birds. Pity!😥
