It was 6:15pm and John just as he would always have his way told mum angrily "mum I'm heading to the studio". To our dismay mum tried to compel John to stay back cos it's late but John with his heated nature left the house without saying a word to anyone!! So we all continued with our "Jenifer Diaries" .

John had always had this history with the mum:a single parent, and John being the first child thought he is like the next in line and couldn't succumb to anyone and most times not even the mother. Added with him being an adolescent plus a musical career didn't make things easy!!

We were all laughing and enjoying our drama series when mum cut in " I don't know what's really wrong with that boy, everytime he keeps getting on my nerves and sometimes as a mother I feel pained because I weep for such disrespectful acts". Everyone paused for a minute, trying to tell her it's okay. ."comon!! John is just a kid, he'll definitely change when he grows up!! "

7:30pm I had gone down to lock the gate(ofcourse it's late over here) when I heard screaaaams and running from outside yelling at the woman next store "Aunty Rose open your door before they kill me!! ". Everyone upstairs looked out from the window but couldn't get hold of view cos it was dark. I quickly locked the gate and went back upstairs.
Meeting everyone upstairs, my aunt was complaining "that's John's voice I'm hearing, did you open the door for him?" I replied with a No(ofcourse he wasn't running and yelling when he left the house). Next thing we heard a knock on the door and behold it was John with 3policemen. They have abducted him from the next store and that's when we found ourselves at the police station by 10pm!!

How did we get here???

So John had reached the main road and a call got into his phone. Adjusting himself to a nearby parked car to answer his call unknowingly to him policemen were trailing the car.... A STOLEN VEHICLE!!

Coupled with John's rugged looks, you know the unkept dreadlocks, fierce eyes, huge, ragged jeans, the police couldn't think otherwise.

Before John could finish his call, he was surrounded by 3 policemen and the next thing he received were slaps upon bully without an offense. So when he saw the need for survival that's when he managed to escape the scene and run back towards the house(when we heard the yells).

The police story

After we arrived and made every necessary proceedings at the station(the nigerian way). We were called into the questioning room. Madam, "Is this your son, do you know where he went to.... " and every other enquiry one could get from a policeman. We were exhausted and just then a senior officer came in and the first thing he said was "MADAM THANK YOUR GOD!!, HAD IT BEEN THESE GUYS AT THE OFFICE TODAY WERE ON FIELD YOU WOULD BE IDENTIFYING A DEAD CORPSE BY NOW"

We have been trailing that car for a long time now, and the thieves just had to leave it at the dying minutes and make a run and that's when we got a call telling us the target is on sight which everyone replied "if he makes a move.... Shoot him down!! " But further info on the suspect I personally ordered them not to shoot unless an act of violence occurs!!

It was 12:36am by now but our eyes were still widely spread like the patient dog waiting patiently for his breakfast

Aunty almost fell on the floor.... "so this is how I could have lost my son... A full grown boy, my goodness!! ". It was around 1:20am before we were finally dismissed to go home.

Arriving the house, John rushed to his room and shut the door but we proceeded to the parlour. That's when aunty started sobbing(you could see in her eyes she was tough not to even cry at the station when the police said the first order was to shoot at sight)... "This is what I always tell this boy be obedient he won't!! Now where would we start the burial planning, how would I tell the family " and many more followed. She proceeded to say that John got her angry on Friday night she had to kneel down by her bed and ask God to show John a sign so he would change!!

Could this be the sign??

It was getting late we had to talk aunty to sleep before we went our different rooms to catch some sleep before the morning!!

The Funny part

7:30am that morning everyone were still marrying their beds when aunty came out from there room and knocked on John's door. "John come out, the police demands your presence at the station". As I heard "the station" my sleep left me and this was I standing besides aunty.... "what's wrong?" , "John is needed for further clarification" .Just then John came out "mum you said what??" ..... OoooooMmmmGggg!!!

Next thing John requested for money to barb his hair which the mum told him she exhausted everything left in the house yesternight. Now John was going to the sister's room begging "Joan please please help me with #300 I need to get a haircut". Reluctantly Joan removed #300 and gave him.

20minutes later John was back with what... A SKIN PUNK LMAO!!! WTF who changes from dreadlocks to skin punk? I could see hidden smiles on the mother's face. Before 10minutes John was dressed and came out with a nice jeans(not his normal ragged), scandals(unlike his trainers), simple polo and no watch!! Everyone giggled when he asked "mum am I okay like this(which John needed someone's clearance before??)" ....And they headed to the station for final clearance at about 10am.

we rushed out to ask the barber what made John take up skin cut?? The guy sarcastically said he wanted to barb off his demons that they've finally left him lol

2pm they were back and thank God everything was settled case closed!!! Atleast John now has changed abit and the Mother too is happy with that. But this just goes beyond a contest story.... A mother is someone that carried you in her wombs for 9months and as such shouldn't be made to feel bad at any second. So I don't know if maybe this was meant for you to see it or you are actually having issues with your mum whatsoever, for the sake of creation please try and settle it now, you might not be lucky like John!!
