Nigeria is one place government should really focus on cyber police because day by day innocent people are being robbed of their cash by hoodlums online, this is what happened to my friend.

David was not always happy with his financial status coupled with being an adolescent, it was not a simple task for the parents to endure. You know the pain of asking your parents for needs and they couldn't provide them most times so the family was always on "fire" most times that's why I frequent David's house just to encourage him " be calm soon everything will be ok".
I remembered jokingly asking David for cash that week which he looked me with a disgust face(lol) telling me he had nothing but I told him "hey, I was only kidding".
Fast-forward to Wednesday I got a message from David telling me he got a mail saying he won ¥800,000 from one 2go promo like that, that maybe finally my words are coming to pass and before I could even ask him how?,my guy has hunged up on me.
I wasn't going to be around for 3-4 days, one mind was being curious how someone would win ¥800,000 for doing basically "nothing" but the other was kinda optimistic... "it's my friend maybe I'll get a 100,000 share??"
I came back from my trip Saturday afternoon and as u'd guess rightly, David's house was where I checked in first. On reaching there it was the mum that first called me up; "Peter please if you love your friend warn him and warn him again cos the next time he tries that which he just did this week I will disown him!!"
Believe me I was shocked, I mean this was supposed to be one of the happiest weeks of David and I, what really went wrong?? I proceeded to his room, I think I knocked for about 20minutes with no response before I later decided to goto Ukeme's room, the brother.
After our discussion I got to learn that David followed up the text and made a call. He was told he's a lucky winner that he should send #12,000 to process the money from Japan to nigeria which he sent through airtime as his account was dormant. Calling back the second time he was told the money Is at Japanese embassy in Nigeria, he should send another #12,000 so the money could be released there which he came and borrowed Ukeme half of that money promising to return with interest.
He sent succefully and made the third call. He was told the money was released that he needs to send another #15,000 for bank charges so that the money could be processed and sent to his account in uyo. Well he came to Ukeme again but this time he was told nothing is left. So that's when David sneaked inside mummy's room to pick #15,000. Little wonder why mum threatened to disown him next time.
That was sent and on his way coming back he was summoned by someone in the area who noticed his restlessness since the start of the day and he explained everything and behold the man told him he shouldn't try that again that he's been scammed!!
Ukeme told me that's what he narrated to him(being the only one he is free to talk with at home) before he retired to his room which he only opens his door to get his food at night and that's the routine for 3days now!!!
Well I felt for him because I understand that feeling of needing money and later seeing "hope",most time you won't think twice before acting because you just need the money. I still went back to knock on his room which he opened this time around. You could see from his looks and body language he was off mood. I later reassured him everything would be fine and even promised to take him to his favorite spot the next evening.... you support your friends in good times and bad times
So that's how the whole drama ended. My friend was scammed with over #39,000 in one day!! But on another thought I think the nigerian government should do better pertaining to cyber security. In such cases the phone lines could have been traced and maybe a gps or even the account number that was sent but no!!, nothing was done.
So this just goes a long way to tell people **if you never invested in anything don't expect any reward... It's most likely a scam!! **. This is one day I can't forget till today but I hope David takes it off his mind..... We are getting more matured and experienced. It was better to loose $100+ than to loose millions in the future, they say experience is the best teacher
