Hola amigos en esta participacion del concurso de @splinterlands de esta semana les muestro mi representacion del Crystal Werewolf, una criatura increible, cuyo arte basico me atrajo lo suficiente como para darle un redraw a mi estilo. Desde siempre me han gustado los hombres lobo, pero un hombre lobo con cristales es algo nuevo que no habia visto y cuando empece a pensar en lo que podria lograr me inspire muchisimo en crear este trabajo.

Hello friends, in this entry for this week's @splinterlands contest I show you my representation of the Crystal Werewolf, an incredible creature, whose basic artwork attracted me enough to give it a redraw to my style. I have always liked werewolves, but a werewolf with crystals is something new that I had not seen before and when I started thinking about what I could achieve I was very inspired to create this work.
Here I show you the base card:

Comence por un boceto demasiado simple de lo que yo creia que era un hombre lobo y aunque era bastante sencillo debo admitir que quedo bastante acertado, se que hay muchas imagenes de hombres lobo en internet pero me inspire en la pelicula de VAN HELSING que vi hace mucho tiempo para hacer la pose, al menos de memoria.

I started with a very simple sketch of what I thought was a werewolf and although it was quite simple I must admit that it was quite successful, I know there are many images of werewolves on the internet but I was inspired by the VAN HELSING movie that I saw a few years ago plenty of time to do the pose, at least from memory.

Luego empece a definir los detalles del lineart para pulir al personaje, la version de la carta original se ve muy musculosa y quise llevarlo mas a una version mas bestial y salvaje, asi que reduje los musculos y le di mas pelaje salvaje.

Then I started to define the details of the lineart to polish the character, the version of the original card looks very muscular and I wanted to take it more to a more bestial and wild version, so I reduced the muscles and gave him more wild fur.

Tambien le agregue los cristales de una manera mas clara paa que se notara que realmente estan incrustados en la piel.

I also added the crystals in a clearer way so that it would be noticed that they are really embedded in the skin.

Al finalizar el lineart me preocupaba un poco el tema de empezar a colorear, pues no habia definido un fondo y el hombre lobo es blanco asi que no sabia muy bien como trabajarlo, asi que empece a pensar en algun escenario nocturno alejado de la sociedad, donde este animal pudiera estar escondido, asi fui estableciendo colores y escenarios en mi mente.

At the end of the lineart I was a little worried about starting to color, because I had not defined a background and the werewolf is white so I did not know very well how to work it, so I began to think of some night scene away from society, where this animal could be hidden, so I was establishing colors and scenarios in my mind.

A continuación puli todos los borde y detalles de la bestia y me enfoque en su pelaje y en darle sombra y profundidad, dejando en claro lo potente de su musculatura pero tambien su fiereza, tambien expandi el escenario porque solo dos rocas no serian suficiente para hacer resaltar este arte, necesitaba un fondo que fuera mejor con lo que se intentaba transmitir.

Entonces agregue mas rocas y un camino de agua el cual transcurre por el fondo del cañon, igual que unas montañas a la distancia.

Next I polished all the edges and details of the beast and I focused on its fur and on giving it shadow and depth, making clear how powerful its musculature was but also its fierceness, I also expanded the setting because only two rocks would not be enough to make To highlight this art, I needed a background that would be better with what it was trying to convey.
Then add more rocks and a water path which runs along the bottom of the canyon, just like some mountains in the distance.

Por ultimo era hora de darle vida a nuestro Hombre lobo asi que con las luces de la luna de fondo, empece a iluminar cada uno de los cristales que recorren su cuerpo, los cuales al instante le dieron una vida y un toque diferente, tambien fui iluminando el escenario y agregando detalles y sombras que complementarian el arte en conjunto.

Finally it was time to give life to our werewolf so with the lights of the moon in the background, I began to illuminate each of the crystals that run through his body, which instantly gave him a life and a different touch, I was also illuminating the stage and adding details and shadows that complement the art as a whole.

Por ultimo el tono mas fuerte de luz y unos brillos adicionales los cuales haran destacar a nuestro Hombre Lobo de Cristal sobre todo los demas.

Finally, the strongest tone of light and some additional brightness which will make our Crystal Wolf Man stand out above all the others.

Asi llegamos al final con esta increible pieza, realmente esta es una de las criaturas que mas me ha gustado dibujar, hubo todo un proceso de amor a esta criatura mitologica que tambien me inspiro.

Thus we come to the end with this incredible piece, this is really one of the creatures that I have liked to draw the most, there was a whole process of love for this mythological creature that also inspired me.
