So, following last night's terrible result I walked home to reflect on why I am addicted to football when I hate it so much. I didn't get anywhere in terms of finding an answer, but I did clock up 5000 steps by 02:00! That of course was a euphemistic statement: the game finished at midnight here, and I stomped home sulking. Still, the better team won. Tottenham looked very pedestrian, whereas Liverpool never had to get out of second gear. Fair play. I'll ungrit my teeth now and tell you about the rest of my day.
As you can see, we went to Bookfest, where my lovely wife was launching a book (to which she had contributed, not written singlehandedly). She captivated a crowd with some sort of intellectual lecture while I went rampaging around the various book stands to find myself a Timmy mask. If you've never seen Timmy, it's hilarious. However, you need to have a pre-school aged child in order to give you an excuse to watch it. Borrow a niece or nephew or something.
At the Bookfest, I struggle to stop myself spending crazy amounts of money. I so tempted by many titles. Two caught my eye today: Steve Berry's books (never heard of him but titles and write-ups are intriguing) and a book by Richard Flanagan. In romanian it means 'The Wish', but now I need to do a bit of research to find the English version.
Have a great week!
