At the car show of Shanghai, Mercedes is presenting a car that charges itself through the paint and the coating.

The entire surface of the car becomes a giant solar panel. Which loads up the battery of the car while driving. Depending on the region on earth, you can drive the car without having to charge it from the grid. In California you could do 20000 kilometres per year just by charging through the coating!

It sounds to good to be true, but it is in the making. Estimates say that within 5 to 10 years are needed to completely finalise this!
