Hello everyo and happy monday. There was something I wanted to try as soon as I was done work, it was to create ome digital brushes of my own in the software Clip Studio Paint. I have heard before of custom brushes, I mean you can actually buy bundles online, but where is the fun in that. Useful for sure, but to create some of your own is way more satisfying. Just like creating anything, which is probably the reason I like arts so much : you create, capture or project something, sometimes out of nothing.
So most of my evening time was spend on watching tutorials and it did take me quite a few tries to actually be able to make and understand well the principle of making a new brush. In super short resume, It is about creating materials. Again, tons of possibilities there. Making my own brushes is for the long term use mostly. To be able to make consistent effects with more ease, therefore saving some time. I can already imagine making different brushes for different elements, to be able to use them in battle scenes or some small comic strips (in a futur as I am not there at the moment, all in good time).
After all this, learning new tricks, making some strokes to test different stuf, I figured I should try to use ithem in a more concrete way. So I did a small sketch and started to color. I was eager to try ot the brushes, so you can understand why I made so many...too many flames in this one. My brushes are not perfect, they look like flames but I am sure and can make them more realistic, I still had to try it to know for sure :-)
Here are some progress pics :
