Hello everybody and happy late Saturday. You know what they say, if you want to get better at something you got to practice everyday. I want to get better at drawing, to be able to draw the things that comes out of my mind. To draw and be able to represent what I'm thinking on a constant base., so I draw, again and again. It sounds easy, and it can be if you put your mind to it. This drawing is actually what I could call a practice draw as I wanted to explore more options that are available in the world of digital arts. I did a style similar as the one I did yesterday for Splinterlands, just a question of getting the hang up new techniques that I'm learning for that style (and want to remember).
I tried to use as much help as the program could offer me, So I started positioning a 3D modeling the software and use it as a reference to get that almost perfect position. I really prefer drawing out of nowhere, there is nothing wrong using references, as long as they are used as a tool or to be able to learn something from it. I wanted to draw the body using only blending techniques and forming the base color into the actyal shape of the body. It's felt a little bit like sculpting, or even a little bit more like natural painting (by natural I mean in real life painting). It was long, but the process was relaxing and I get to learn a few little tricks everyday that works for different styles. For examples, I have learned to do cleaner outline today, so that is a plus.
There is a contest for a game called Radaquest and I base myself on the character Inua, one of te Lefendary ones. I made the drawing really because the concept of their art was something I wanted to try. They are quite realistic and have a specific appeal to it, gotta love their art. Even if the incentives to participate are rather low,, I just had to try it out. Initially the social media suggested to use were only the regular ones (facebook, twitter and all), but after reaching out, they had no problem using Hive instead :-).
This drawing was all done using the software clip Studio Paint Pro. from the 3D model generated from it, to do use a custom brushes. I probably just touch the tip of the iceberg of digital arts, but I got to say that I like it and I am glad that there is more to it. Just like traditional arts, there is no end.
Here are some progress pics :
Here is the timelapse video of the drawing :
I hope you guys like it. Thanks for the view
