Even the very definition of justice is a problem, what is just for one culture is not for another, what one people consider just another will see it as an injustice, it is something terribly difficult to reach agreements in this "simple" definition of the thing.

On the other hand, on these occasions I remember a phrase that a much younger relative told me when I was going through a moment of reflection in his teens: "These are my memories, of a world that never was ... and by definition may never be perfect "

In that sentence he summed up a little what he had to assume to endure a particular pain for a loss that we could consider unfair, but to which he could do nothing but regret not having enough power to avoid it.

It reminds me a little of that old idea of ​​dark times, in which justice depended on who had the best weapon and knew how to use it better, so, a kind of "law of the strongest" was based on the real or potential capacity to trigger violence or retaliation if not obeyed.

I think that, despite the advances of the times, the essence of that old and unpleasant situation has not changed much.

So if you ask me if I think you can have a fair world, I would have to start asking: according to whose criteria of justice?
