I finished the Spanish translation of a Chinese web novel and I am a bit impressed, it happens that there were 658 chapters and I finished them in about a couple of months of work… Now that I look at it, I think I worked pretty fast.
The translation was done mainly from a translation that had been done from Chinese to English, but as I like to make sure and in part there are times when I differ from the translations I find, well, I also consulted it in its original source, that is, Chinese . Because of these things, it surprises me much more to realize that I translated more than 300 chapters per month, that is like too much!
I know I like light fantasy literature and have a preference for these chapter stories, but I never imagined reaching a level where I could do this.
By the way, each chapter is not very long, but it is not only one page, rather if it is put on A4 size sheets in a 12 point font, each chapter would be about 6 or 7 pages. So, let's take the smallest value, 6 pages, and multiply by the number of chapters (658), with which it turns out that I translated 3948 pages ... yes, it is a total of three thousand nine hundred and forty-eight pages and I translated it in two months ...
I think it is well known that I like this, otherwise there is no possibility that I would do something like this of my own free will and achieve it in a relatively short time.
Now I'm wondering if I go back to another translation that I left on pause or if I take on a new project that is interesting ... I think I am in favor of completing what I already have underway and taking out of the freezer the translation that I put on pause a couple of months ago, in the end, I have time to decide.
Terminé la traducción a español de una novela-web china y estoy un poco impresionado, sucede que eran 658 capítulos y los terminé en aproximadamente un par de meses de trabajo… Ahora que me fijo, creo que trabajé bastante rápido.
La traducción la realicé principalmente de una traducción que habían hecho de chino a inglés, pero como me gusta asegurarme y en parte hay ocasiones en que difiero de las traducciones que encuentro, bueno, también la consulté en su fuente en original, es decir, chino. Por esas cosas es que me sorprende mucho mas darme cuenta de que traduje mas de 300 capítulos por mes, eso ¡es como que demasiado!
Sé que me gusta la literatura ligera de fantasía y tengo preferencia por estos relatos en capítulos, pero no me imaginé nunca llegar a un nivel en que puedo hacer esto.
Por cierto, cada capítulo no es muy largo, pero tampoco es que sean de sólo una página, mas bien si se pone en hojas tamaño A4 en una tipografía de 12 puntos, cada capítulo sería de unos 6 o 7 páginas. Entonces, tomemos el valor menor, 6 páginas, y multipliquemos por la cantidad de capítulos (658), con lo que resulta que traduje 3948 páginas… si, tres mil novecientas cuarenta y ocho páginas es el total de lo que traduje en dos meses…
Creo que es bien notorio que me gusta esto, de otra manera no hay posibilidad de que hiciera algo como esto por voluntad propia y que lo lograra en un tiempo relativamente corto.
Ahora estoy pensando si retomo otra traducción que dejé en pausa o si asumo un proyecto nuevo que está interesante… creo que soy partidario de completar lo que ya tengo en marcha y sacar del congelador la traducción que puse en pausa hace un par de meses, en fin, tengo tiempo para decidir.
