驴Qu茅 ser谩 de nosotros?
I never thought I could be so happy and at the same time so sad for the same event, in a few months I finally finish my university studies, that makes me happy, but: What do I do without my classmates? What will become of us? It is not a short time that we have been together, it is five years, I think this makes us family, and knowing that I may not see many of them again makes me sad.
In a few months the abbreviation "Lic" will adorn my name, but at the cost of missing the family we created in the classroom. We have accompanied each other in all the events of our lives for a long time, I have seen the birth of my classmates' children, and I have been there in their first steps, I have also been accompanying my classmates in the loss of their families, and they in mine, we have grown together, without a doubt, and it hurts to separate now, I want to hug that same child I saw born when he gets his college degree, or when he hits his first hit playing baseball, whatever he decides, I want to be there.
At the University we learn every day, you not only grow in terms of knowledge acquired, you also grow on a personal level, you learn that a black man < be the most honest person that exists, that a homosexual has the most beautiful values of the human being, and that he would do anything to defend his own, you learn that a professor much younger than you can teach you something new, and that a gentleman with a forty year professional career can be your fellow student, that a happy person is not always okay, I have seen classmates spout one joke after another while they owe three exams and six extraclass papers to get through the semester. The university teaches you to treat everyone equally, to not judge people without giving them a chance to know them, that we are one race, it doesn't matter where you come from, the color of your skin, your size or your weight, your sexual orientation, it doesn't even matter if you are a stutterer or a radio announcer, we are all equal, and we are worth for what we are, not for what we look like. I want to thank the university for that, for educating me as a human being, in a few months the abbreviation "Lic" will adorn my name, but that is the least of it, the real title is in what I achieved as a human being.
I just hope we never stop being what we are today, a family. Thanks to life for allowing me to meet these wonderful people.
