Greetings, everyone!
My response to this question is that some of us think that we came to the world to make money, build houses everywhere, and drive big cars, and then we are fine with that. Can I tell you that's not the purpose of God for our lives?
Scripturally, looking at the life of Jesus Christ, he lived a purposeful life on earth. He has always been going around places helping people and touching lives, making sure people live a life that is pleasing to God and men. A life that will add value to one another. Some people can stay for a while without being loved, forgiven, favoured, and helped. And you noticed that God did all these things to humans while on earth. People felt his presence and problems and burdens were lifted away. The sick were healed, heartbroken were mended.
So God decided to make man in his own image and breathe his life into us to do his will and represent him well on this planet earth. So the things he did, he wanted us to do more for people who are in need.
Each day we wake up from sleep, is a privilege to help people, preach the gospel, love, forgive, show kindness, and help people who are in need. Anywhere we find ourselves, at the market square, at your place of work, in an organization, that place you used to wake up every day to, is a platform for you to reach out to people.
So I wake up every day to represent Christ at my place of work. Meeting people and giving them words of encouragement, advice, and comfort is powerful and can help that person go far in life.
For us to live a purposeful life, we need to put it into practice. The Bible says, we should love one another as we love ourselves and do good to those who hate us. Let people around us know that, we carry the presence of God. Let them learn from us who have experienced Christ.
So our everyday life is not to make money and it shouldn't be our first priority or greatest necessity. God should be the first, so we can transfer that life to others. Money should be secondary and we can use it to bless people's lives, making people feel comfortable when they don't have.
Your office is not a place to cause trouble. It should be a place to show love, joy and peace in the Holy Ghost.
Therefore, the purpose we have is not for us to make money but to transform lives through what you are doing.
