Greetings, everyone!
My response to this contest is that places of worship should be totally exempt from taxes. The government should not put its eyes, nose, and everything inside places of worship. Let the church generate its income for its religious activities and to support people in the church, society, and many more. If they wish to support the community or government, there's no problem, but it shouldn't be made compulsory for the places of worship to pay taxes. If it's made compulsory, some worshippers might feel discouraged from giving in churches.
The church offerings, the tithe, and gifts, should be centered on the church's needs or activities. Many churches are sponsoring students, building hospitals, building theological schools, and other infrastructure to help people develop their skills and abilities and be well-equipped for the betterment of society and the people. The church is also taking responsibility for paying NEPA bills, which is a big enough.
However, the government should look into the commercial aspect for taxes not the church. At least this one, they selling and doing business every day, so this should be enough for the government to generate their revenue and live the places of worship. They have needs to meet and they need money, if the government should suffocate these places of worship, it will not be nice. The money is for God and let them use it to please God as instructed.
