Greetings, everyone!
My response is that, I feel the impact of physical friendship and online friendship. But I would prefer the physical friendship where I could see you and tell who you truly are. Physically, I will see and know your character more than online.
I could vividly tell a story of my sister, not biologically related but a very close friend and my mom's daughter. She had an online friendship with a guy who happened to be a man, he disguised himself as if he wanted to marry my friend, he started introducing the lady to his family members, and he even sent money to my friend to pay her house rent, before she knew, everything went upside down, excuses upon excuses, problem upon problem.
He later stopped talking to my friend. Each time my friend called, he would ignore the calls, and my friend heard he was busy, troubled, and did not know this guy was a scammer.
He later called my friend to send all the money he had been sending to her to him. My friend had to be contributing every month just to pay him his money. It was disheartening and discouraging. I don't trust online friendship. Some are not genuine, some will distort from you or mar your life in such a way that you didn't expect. So I am always very careful with online friends, and I rarely trust people, especially online friends. Some of them are thieves.
I am introverted in nature, and I would like to have more physical friendships that will take me out of my nest, where I'm always indoors. And I'm a deep thinker, when indoors too much, I will think too, and it might lead to something else. So being out with your friends physically matters a lot. It relieves you of boredom and thoughts that are not necessary. You will feel happy and excited when you connect with your friends physically. It creates another impact on your mental health and helps burn out some sicknesses, you didn't know were in your body.
To me, it's not something that will end well for me and for others who are against online friendship. I can't build a relationship with a stranger online, I need to see you first before any other discussion. I have learned from people who have experienced online friendship and I can't go with that trend.
