The world has really advanced; technology has really changed the way people connect. It is not like back then when that technology had not come into existence. With the help of technology, it is possible to have friends, colleagues, and loved ones without meeting them physically. With your phone and internet connection, we can connect with friends kilometers away from us.

Someone like me who is an introvert, the internet is a safe and comfortable place for me. I find it easier to express myself through a message than to sit in a room full of people and start a conversation. I have been able to find people who have similar interests and experiences with me. There are times when I feel misunderstood in the physical environment; I find comfort in the internet environment.

Online relationships are good, but we should not allow them to replace physical relationships. One beautiful thing about online relationships is convenience. You will communicate when you have time. Distance is never a problem; you can have friends in another country who know everything about you that people close to you don’t know. I feel so comfortable communicating with people online because I am not afraid and they will not judge me face-to-face.

The moment we only feel comfortable communicating only through screens and phone calls, we will find out that gradually we will start losing interest in connecting with people or building relationships in the physical world. Face-to-face is very important; it will help us to understand different personalities, body language, dealing with disagreement, and how to apologize to people. Human feelings that can be replaced with text, video calls, or social handles.

One thing about online relationships is they can create a false sense of closeness. You may feel like we know the person very well because we connect online with the person every day, and you forget that the person will only give you away. To know a little information about them, the wish to be human is very good in hiding characters; some can be kind and trustworthy, while the will keeps the important part hidden.

Both online friendships and physical friendships are very important. I try my best to balance the two. I enjoy my online friends and still create rooms for my offline friends. I connect with my online friends and also create time to hang out with my friends. Both friends are important to me; that's why I try to balance the two.

I don’t go with the ideal that online friends are leading us the wrong way. It really made the world fun and interesting. I have been able to connect with people within my locality and out of my locality.

The internet space has made the world so easy; some introverts have been able to meet people who understand them without judging them. We should never allow online friendships to make us forget our physical friends.
