Luke 4:18

Judging them by their faces, we think that some people are happy. The smile, makeup and expensive clothes can create an appearance of inner peace, but inside they live without enjoying freedom.
The Lord Jesus clarifies his purpose: He has come to set the captives free. Christ was referring to various types of bonds that can imprison our souls.
First, the Lord breaks the chains of sin. All people have violated the law of God, and therefore live apart from Him.
Romans 3:23
But the death and resurrection of Christ set us free when we accept his free forgiveness and put our faith in Him. Which allows us to relate to the Lord.
Second, He frees us from sins such as jealousy, bitterness and gluttony. His Spirit dwells in each believer, and gives us the power to overcome the bad decisions that seem to be our "owners." It enables us to do what He desires, giving immediate healing or direction and strength in the ongoing battle we wage daily.
The Creator of humanity made us with a void in the heart, so that Jesus Christ may fill it. Everything we put there, good or bad, will eventually leave us empty. And we will remain enslaved until God releases us and gives us the only true satisfaction.
Are you one of those people apparently happy and satisfied with your life, but inside you feel insecure and empty? Jesus Christ is the only one who can redeem you, forgive your sins, and fill the empty place in your soul. Allow Him to release you today.

The Lord is not slow in keeping his word, as he seems to some, but he is waiting in mercy for you, not desiring the destruction of any, but that all may be turned from their evil ways.
2 Pedro 3:9
