The Nutcracker || A Prince

Una niña recibe un juguete de madera en Navidad, sin saber que era un príncipe embrujado por una ratona y convertido en un muñeco. Esta es parte de la historia del Cascanueces.

A little girl receives a wooden toy at Christmas, not knowing that it was a prince bewitched by a mouse and turned into a doll. This is part of the story of the Nutcracker.

Cascanueces || Nutcracker

Como he comentado anteriormente soy fan de los cilindros de cartón de los rollos de papel sanitario. Así que para hacer la maqueta del cuerpo utilice 5 rollos de cartón de papel sanitario.

As I've mentioned before I'm a fan of cardboard cylinders from toilet paper rolls. So to make the body model I used 5 rolls of cardboard toilet paper.

1- Empecé por aplicar silicón en la parte superior de un rollo para pegar encima otro, esto sería el cuerpo del muñeco.

1- I started by applying silicone on the top of one roll to glue another one on top, this would be the body of the doll.

2- Tomé dos rollos y los doblé a la mitad y los corte, luego con la mitad de cada uno forme un cilindro quedaría con diámetro menor. De este tipo hice cuatro, corresponderían a las piernas y brazos del muñeco.

2- I took two rolls and folded them in half and cut them, then with half of each one I formed a cylinder with a smaller diameter. I made four of these cylinders, which would correspond to the legs and arms of the doll.

3- Tomé dos cilindro del paso anterior. En este caso serían los brazos y corte rectángulos de foami o goma eva. Dorada, roja y negra y con silicón los pegue para empezar a vestir al muñeco. En este paso no medi con exactitud, coloque el cilindro y calculé aproximadamente según como yo quería que me quedara el ancho de cada franja. Si tú deseas puedes tomar medidas exactas para cortar el foami y cartulina.

3- I took two cylinders from the previous step. In this case they would be the arms and cut rectangles of foami or eva rubber. Gold, red and black and with silicone I glued them to start dressing the doll. In this step I did not measure exactly, I placed the cylinder and calculated approximately according to how I wanted the width of each strip. If you want you can take exact measurements to cut the foami and cardboard.

4- El siguiente paso fue forrar el cuerpo, igual tome el cilindro y lo coloque al lado de cada pliego para calcular el ancho y cortar. Aplique silicón y empecé a pegar cartulina color piel para la cara, foami rojo escarchado para la blusa, una franja fina negro que simula el cinturón y por último una franja roja que simula la parte de abajo de la blusa o chaqueta del muñeco, hice un corte en forma de triángulo y pegué cartulina negra.

4- The next step was to line the body, I took the cylinder and placed it next to each sheet to calculate the width and cut. I applied silicone and started gluing skin colored cardboard for the face, frosted red foami for the blouse, a thin black strip that simulates the belt and finally a red strip that simulates the bottom of the blouse or jacket of the doll, I made a cut in the shape of a triangle and glued black cardboard.

5- Es hora de armar las piernas, para eso tome los dos cilindros que forme en el paso dos, le coloqué una franja azul de foami que asemejan los pantalones y terminé con cartulina negra que serían las botas.

5- It's time to assemble the legs, for that I took the two cylinders that I made in step two, I placed a blue strip of foami that resembles the pants and finished with black cardboard that would be the boots.

6- Para los pies o zapatos, en un cartón dibuje la silueta y la replique seis veces, para cada pie pegue tres con el fin de ganar altura, forre cada uno y lo al final de las piernas.

6- For the feet or shoes, I drew the silhouette on cardboard and replicated it six times, for each foot I glued three of them in order to gain height, lined each one and then glued it at the end of the legs.

7- Para los detalles de la cabeza y cara, tome un retazo de tela peluda y corte lo que sería el cabello y la barba, en cartulina recorte un cuadrado pequeño que doblé en diagonal para la nariz y los ojos, con esto arme la carita.
Las cejas y bigotes los dibuje con un bolígrafo negro.

7- For the details of the head and face, take a piece of furry fabric and cut out what would be the hair and beard, cut out a small square on cardboard and fold it diagonally for the nose and eyes, with this I made the face.
The eyebrows and whiskers I drew with a black pen.

8- Para el sombrero corte un cilindro de cartón y le disminuí el diámetro. Lo forre con cartulina negra y con foami dorado le hice un detalle y se lo pegué con silicón.

8- For the hat, I cut a cardboard cylinder and reduced its diameter. I lined it with black cardboard and with gold foami I made a detail and glued it with silicone.

9- Los detalles en la chaqueta lo hice con ayuda de una perforadora, asemejan los botones y con tiras muy finas de foami dorado logré el trenzado.

9- I made the details on the jacket with the help of a hole puncher, they resemble buttons and with very thin strips of gold foami I made the braid.

Finalmente así luce este Príncipe.
