Rice fields in Indonesia generally divided into 4 kinds, as written above, the explanation can be seen below.

1 Irrigated rice field is an agricultural system with irrigated water, irrespective of rainfall because irrigation can be obtained from river reservoir. Irrigated rice farms usually harvest twice a year and in the dry season can be interspersed with palawija crops.
2 Rainfed lowland is a rice field that gets water only during the rainy season so it depends on the season. Rainfed rice fields are planted with gogorancah rice. However, in the dry season it is planted with palawija, maize and cassava.

3 Tidal rice fields depend on the surface water conditions that are affected by the tidal conditions of river water. At high tide, rice fields are inundated, while at low tide the rice fields are dry and planted with rice. Tidal rice fields are found in Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Papua.

4 Lebak Lawah is a rice field planted and located on the left and right of the river. Rice fields lebak paddy and left the big rivers. This type of rice field is rare because considering the risk is very vulnerable to flooding. Farmers have rarely used this lebak rice system as paddy farming. They mostly converted the rice fields into plantation fields such as palm oil.
