I don't believe in bad luck or luck in general. What I believe is that life is neither good nor bad; life is filled with both good stuff and cruel circumstances.
The past few days have been rough. It was like sailing in the Pacific Ocean with no idea where the next island was; it was death-defying. From thoughts of ending my own life to balancing all the roles and responsibilities that I willingly accepted, I lived on the edge or should I say I thrived. I've juggled my days and nights to be a superhuman: a dependable sister and daughter, a loving and supporting girlfriend, a leader and a changemaker at work. Not to brag but it's worth mentioning that I might've set the bar higher this time; I didn't fall into the pit of the messy whirlwind of my emotions. I didn't allow all the dark thoughts to get the better of me this time. It's funny how brave I've been this past week alone; I showed up with a perfectly carved smile with no hint of suffering. When people around me are helpless and low in spirit, I have to be strong for them else we'll hit the end of the road earlier than we're supposed to be.
It's funny that amidst all my effort in making sense of all this chaos around me, the Almighty bombarded me with people who relentlessly supported me and showed me that I am not alone in this journey. Now, the heavy rain has slowly subsided and with a grateful heart, I walk forward armed with all the dreams and hopes that tomorrow will make me stronger for the bigger battles ahead.
