Often we decide to do what is right for our growth and development but partially pay the price. The desired results would not come in such instances until we pay the price in full. The rule is go in all or not at all. The goals we set for ourselves on steemit, life, academics, professions or in every endeavor, we ought to take the risk in full to meet the target. This is why Jim Rohn says
Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments.
Let me share with a story;
One day a young man was traveling to a far town through an unknown land. Darkness was drawing closer and he needed to rest. Before he could retire to rest, he decided to feed on his last loaf of bread after drinking some water. It was unfortunate for him when he reached out to his water bottle and found it empty. He decided to find water from any source around.
He came across an old man sitting on a big rock by the roadside. This young traveler drew closer with all courage and asked the old man if he knew any place around where he could get water to drink.

The old man advised him to stay on the road till he came across a T- junction. He advised he took the right path and stayed on that path, he would come to a small stream. The old man further explained that the stream was small but bigger than he could imagine. The stream would make him happy and sad at the same time. Nonetheless, all depended on his choices and the extent to which he would take the risk involved.
What was the risk? The young traveler asked. The old man said it would be dark before he would arrived at the stream. There were pebbles in the stream which he could pick as many as he could, it was a choice anyway. The young man praised the old man and left.
Lo and behold, he came to the stream. He took a drink and a drink till he was satisfied. He laid for a while and decided to find a different place to sleep. Before he could leave, he thought it wise to pick some pebbles. Upon the second thought he said to himself that what on earth would he carry pebbles for. He just picked a handful of pebbles from the stream and left.

In the middle of the night he reached out to the pebbles from his pocket and found some shinny stones. He quickly picked his flashlight and realized the pebbles he picked were rather diamond. He quickly rushed to the stream for more pebbles but, guess what the stream was empty of the pebbles. He became sad for not picking more and was a little happy he picked a handful of pebbles.
So it is with us all. In this life, we can not go back to the opportunities. Once you have therefore decided to pay the price, to take the risk involved, take it in full.
