Doubt can quietly grow in our minds. It makes us doubt ourselves and our decision about whether to take a particular path. Doubt can also make us question whether we are doing the right thing or whether things will work out for our good.
When we allow doubt to take over, it can make us lose things that are meant for us in some ways. So doubt shouldn't make us give up in every circumstance we find ourselves in. I think the important thing is not to allow doubt to take control of every decision we make.
There can be situations where we don't have all the answers, and that’s fine. We just need to move one step forward. The important thing is that we learn from our mistakes. Whenever we make a mistake, it is an opportunity to learn from it and keep going without letting doubt make decisions for us.
I can vividly remember when I was in secondary school. I was given an opportunity to speak as part of a group we were divided into for an assignment. At that moment, doubt took over me. I just believed that I wouldn’t be able to do it. But during rehearsals, I learned to put that doubt aside and focus, and it came out perfectly.
Those thoughts make me want to hold back. But when I keep going, it turns out to be something great. I’ve learnt not to let doubt control everything in some aspects.
Again, I think some doubt can be helpful because some decisions can be harmful. Before you make one, your mind may not be at rest; doubt will begin to take over. When you finally disagree with that harmful decision, doing so is the right thing and may save you from danger.
