EOS has been hyped by some as the "Ethereum killer" - perhaps a slightly far-fetched over-optimism, though based in performance figures that could potentially support EOS' rise, should Ethereum fail to scale in time to meet the demands of its growing dApp ecosystem. (Though it appears as though the pending solutions could be coming quicker than anticipated with both the Raiden Network and the potential of Plasma to facilitate billions of transactions per second). And some have pondered what benefit EOS' ascent - should it unfold according to the high hopes - what impact might be had on Bitshares
And with this post, I open the floor for opinions and insights on the answer to that question.
One of the key features of Bitshares - as its been communicated by some - is the decentralized exchange. Yet, it's also been said that EOS - partnering with Bitfinix and aware of its potential needs for a decentralized exchange - may even build its own, in which case it might be expected that given EOS is an evolved platform aiming for greater adoption that Bitshares has ever achieved, the Bitshares dEx might not turn out that strong a feature after all.
There is also the pegged-asset component to Bitshares, which has been proven. Though, a similar question arises: is that function of Bitshares so strong that it shall stand on its own and be a commonly-integrated component of apps developed on/for EOS - or is it more likely that a similar component/function/app for tokenizing assets be developed on/for EOS?
And if so, where does that leave Bitshares?
Welcoming knowledgeable input from all those who've been in the Bitshares community for a while and have a good grasp of its functionalities and potentials.
How do you foresee EOS' success affecting Bitshares?
Do you see the two complimenting each other? Where might Bitshares' purpose and value shine most in the expanding ecosystem of EOS, or where might parts of it become obsolete with EOS' upgraded capabilities?
